Authentication

In order to allow TimeTraverseHub to post to your feed, you need to authorize the application first.

The first thing we need to know is the name of the instance your account is hosted (for example, mastodon.social). The application will redirect you to a new browser window that allows you to log in to your account and to give the application the required rights to post to your feed.

The application receives a token in exchange, which will then be used to authenticate all requests to the Mastodon server your account is hosted on.

Security

The acquired token is saved in the Keychain of your Mac. This ensures that the key is always safely stored. We are going to read the key only at the moment we are effectively posting to your account and clean it from the application's memory as soon as the post is done. Your account is protected in the best possible way.

Revoke access rights

You can revoke the access of TimeTraverseHub at any time via the Preferences of your Mastodon account. Go to the Preferences site and select Account settings, followed by Authorized Apps. Find the entry for TimeTraverseHub and click on X Revoke.

If you want to use TimeTraverseHub after that again to post to your feed, you'll need to login again.
